Taper Time::

Monday was the official start to my taper and was to be a day off so I decided to run my hill 5 mile loop.

I know what you saying, I am a jackass, but this week I am having scheduling issues and I have to swap things around a little.

Life does not run on my training schedule I know this and I have had to swap something around each week, but I have made most of my workouts.

I'm still married, and my kids remember my name, so being flexible is the key to life, and I hope triathlon.LOL.

This week I'm working on the todo list:

  • Clean bike
  • Check out bike to stem to stern.
  • Purchase new tubs and air cartridges aero drink bottle.
  • Print out directions to Orlando and to the hotel, print out registration info and create an organized folder.
  • Create my packing check lists for everything and a transition list.
  • Relax

So my taper looks like this:

The only thing that will be an issue is getting in a pre race swim it's not allowed.

But I think I might have found an answer to that issue and found a cult classic at the same time.

That's much nicer than what we call you behind your back ;-)

Boy, I'm glad I'm not on your plan. That's WAY to much stuff for this tired old body during taper.

I think Dee Dee and I will try to hit up the beach sometime Saturday. Should be able to get in a pre-race swim there :-)

That swim is interesting. I love their FAQ

Are there Alligators in the Lake? There have been in the past and there may be some now. It would be unusual to have a large one over 5 feet, but alligators migrate and you just never know. There are also snakes, turtles, fish etc.... When you do an open water swim you enter the food chain.

Nice

"I'm still married, and my kids remember my name" ROFLMAO!

Yes, that is very, very important!

Now get to tapering! ;-)

Hi! Have you done the FLorida 70.3 before? This will be my first and I am wondering how the aid stations work to replenish my bike bottles. Is there room to pull over and refill from the table or do I need to toss and grab a new one and if so do the new ones fit into the bottle holders on the bike? You do have an aggressive taper!!
