Midweek update:

Humpday is here and I'm right on schedule with my training. Not that the miles or hours are too over the top, it's just that I'm just getting back into my groove, and, well I've gotten a little, how do I say, soft.
Post marathon I really needed a break I was falling out of love and my thyroid was going nuts. I took a break, maybe a little too long for comfort, but that was then, and now is now. I am glad to be back, well I have to say it, "Back in the saddle", I really have a new found love for my sport.
As we ramp back up and start tuning up, remember just how lucky we are.

See ya on the road,

-Brian

Yay!! You are back in the saddle! I can't wait to see how your training is going. And thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it (especially when I'm dredging up motivation for an 18 miler on Sunday) ;)

Hi Brian,

I posted a review on my blog. I hope that you get a chance to see the movie in Feb. when it comes out again.

Good luck on your training! I will be checking in. Oh, and congrats on the sponsorship with Zoot Gu! Awesome!

Thanks for visiting my blog and the encouraging comment.

You mentioned your thyroid...I had mine removed a couple of years ago. There was just a benign nodule on it that kept growing. Now I'm on synthroid.

Glad you're getting back in your groove!!

Brian,

In respose to your question about synthroid and training...I ran before my thyroidectomy and after (taking the synthroid) and it didn't have negative effects. I just take it in the morning an hour before eating breakfast. It took a few months to find the right dosage though. My thyroid functioned normally (not hyper or hypo), it was just the large nodule growing on it that was the problem, so they took the whole thing out.

Finding the right dosage might take a little longer if you have a thyroid that functions too little or too much.

One thing I have to remember though when I train early or have a race is to set my alarm earlier to take my pill so that I have enough time to eat breakfast (since you have to wait an hour to eat).
